Project Concept - FMP (Task 2)

I have lots of work with my Final Major Project and I have lots of different aims and personal goals within the FMP.

I hope to write 5 original songs and cover 1 song with my band, this is my main aim. I think its going to be hard to reach this goal but I feel that I have improved with my bass playing, writing and communication skills therefore I can use this to my advantage to write and change our cover song. I will have to research the song that we will decide to cover. I want to critically listen to the song and understand all the chords so that we, my band, can creatively change the song. When it comes to writing the originals I plan on recording short demos of my parts to help show how the song developed from writing to actual performing it in a live performance. I will also critically analysis the originals and try to compare it to other work that we might have been influenced by. To help keep our band on track and on time we all came up with a pod timeline plan.

Week 1 - 1st Cover. Power Trip (J Cole)/Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe (Kendrick Lamar)

Week 3 - 2nd Original

Week 4 - 2nd Cover

Week 5 - 3rd Original

Week 6 - 4th Original

We may have to take extra time to achieve our goal, if so then that won't be a problem because we could go into college in the week off and stay behind on college days.

I hope to become a better songwriter. It's going to be very interesting working with Jack, Rowan and Kit because I haven't worked with them yet but I hope that we will help each other become better at songwriting. I have already worked with Charlotte and Marco so I hope that we will develop as songwriters as well. I have learnt a lot of new chords that I can put to use with my songwriting skills. Another aim of mine is to become a better overall musician. I hope that I will become better by being testing and pushing my abilities in performing my songs. This will hopefully make me more confident which is another one of my main goals.

We will be doing a few performances as well that we will have to prepare for so another aim is that I hope become better at live performances and another goal is to improve my stage technique.
