Rehearsals with new band and writing original music

As it stands with have 3 main ideas for songs that we need to work on and develop. We first started with an idea that Harry came up with which were a few chords that we decided to try and develop for a while. Harry isn't familiar with all the chords, nevertheless he is a great guitarist, so I had to look at what he was playing on his guitar and figure out the notes which make up each chord. By doing this I think it really helped to develop me as a musician because I had to use visuals instead of trying to figure it out by ear. I had to then tell Amy and Owen what chords to play. Me and Amy are the only two people within the band who know some general music theory so we have to show and figure out different chords to help our band out.

I think our main problem as a band is lack of communication, sometimes we will barely talk about what we need to do to write songs, instead its general talk about random stuff. This could prevent us from creating songs but it's early days and if we don't stop talking then we won't get songs finished.
