Sequencing

We've begin quite a few different tasks in Marcus' lesson which consist of doing different sequencing tasks. The first task we were given for this term was to put sound effects to a short fight scene. I've managed to finish that but I did find it very challenging, I've never done anything like this before so I didn't know where to start. Marcus gave me some feedback, he said that it was good considering I had never done this kind of work, although I was familiar with how to use Cubase so I tried to use that knowledge to manipulate different sounds. Another task was to compose an original track, using Cubase. If we wished to, we could plug in our own instruments to record. I chose to just create an all MIDI track which so far sounds pretty good in my opinion. Our final track is to create a song in the key of A Major or A Minor. I chose to create a song in the key of A Minor because its relative major is C therefore I can just use all the white keys on the keyboard. I find it a lot easier to write by using the keyboard and this has helped me to improve my overall song writing. Usually I would just try and use my bass guitar but I know realise that it's good to try write on different instruments like the guitar or the keyboard.
