Today I did some more work on my sequencing to try and finish it. It's starting to sound more complete and like an actual song now which I'm very happy about. I first went with the idea for a more electronic approach with the use of synths and electronic drums. I also used a lot of effects on each of my tracks like distortion, phaser, wah-wah, flanger, compression and so on. I used different techniques like panning, changing the volume so fading in and out and did other techniques like changing the velocity. I wasn't too happy with the song so I decided to create a whole new song aside from my first.
I added completely new different instruments and went for a more simple approoach at first. I first started off with some warm sounding keys which I believed would helped to retirate the start of the short film where it's just a young woman talking. I added in more layers of instrumentation like cello, flute and some drums. These instruments helped to add more structure to the song and with more instrumentation comes dynamics. I had to be careful though, I didn't want to overcomplicate it and put in too many instruments.
