Original Song and work in POD 3

Today my band in our only lesson of the day worked on most of our songs that we play. We did work on our original song which consisted of playing the song for Charlotte and her recording it on her phone so she can listen to it at home and write some lyrics for it. The song is in the key of B flat minor and the two chords in the Verse are Bb minor to G# major. These two chords are used in the version we do of I'd Rather Go Blind. The original key for that was A major and we went to B minor but we moved it half a step up and used the chords G# major and Bb minor. We must have just played I'd Rather Go Blind to have come up with the chords for that song because they're the same, we just changed which chord we start with. So we managed to complete that and now some lyrics need to be added to the song. We structured the song so that it ends with the band playing the verse chords and playing solo lines over the chords. I play some solo lines of my own. When the first chord, Bb minor, is being played I tend to work around the minor pentatonic scale and sometimes add in some blues notes and notes from the natural minor scale. When the second chord, G# major, is being played I usually play notes in the G# major pentatonic scale and it all works very well.

In the pod session we also worked on our 3 songs that we're going to be performing on monday. We're going to be covering It Must Be Love, I'd Rather Go Blind and Holiday in that order. We also practised Sweet Home Alabama which wasn't too bad. I have a solo in the song at the end. The song is in G major and mainly uses the chords D major, C major and G major. F major is used 3 times but the first 3 chords I named are the verse and chorus chords, they're used throughout the song. I solo using the G major pentatonic scale.
