Putting music to a short movie

I managed to get a decent amount of work done on cubase today for the short movie. It's very hard to put music to a movie, you have to learn to read the persons body language so you can set the right mood and choice the right instruments. I noticed that from the dialogue that not all is how she thought it would be and from what i noticed its all very mysterious and something doesn't quite feel right. I've worked around with effects like distortion, wah wah, phaser and other many other tricks which are available on cubase. Using panning has helped to add dynamics to my music and changing the volume is also key for there are parts in the short movie where conversations need to be heard and it wouldn't work if there was music playing over it.
In the pod session we had earlier today we were discussing whether to change the key of the song for It Must Be Love because Charlotte isn't happy with the low male vocals that she has to sing and she'd prefer it if it was in a higher key. Rebecca said to try and keep it the same key because it would show that Charlotte is a versatile vocalist and that she can do many different styles.
