I've been practising a lot recently and I'm really concentrating on improving my overall playing and technique so that I can become a much better player. When its the weekend or a half term I always have a lot of time on my hands so I try to fit in as much practising into the day. I did around 8 hours today and that was very good because it helped me improve on certain aspects of my playing and it helps to build my stamina when I play for a long time. I don't play for 8 hours straight because that would literally be impossible. I tend to play for 2 hours and then have a break. It consumes most of my day but I'll tend to watch something whilst I practise like the Aja documentary which looked into the classic 1977 Steely Dan album. It talked about the high standard in musicianship, recording, performance on the tracks and production. They were able to pickup every nuance due to their recording technique which earned the album a grammy for 'Best Engineered Recording' in 1977.
