Today we had to make a drum beat by using cubase in our last lesson. I was very happy with the drum beat that I created and it didn't take me too long, I've already used cubase before so I'm used to the technology. The first half of the lesson was learning about how music relates to movies and how it can set moods. I learnt a lot from this it what I learnt I can transpose to my next project. We had to watch a short movie with no music and we were told that we'd have to come up with some music for the short film. You have to watch whats going on and look at the emotions of the characters faces. I also learnt you have to take the genre into account, whether its drama or action you have to create music which fits with your film. The lessons earlier that day were both in the pod practising with my band which was excellent.
