We had another live performance but this was with my new band and we covered an Ed Sheeran song called 'Gold Rush'. We were given 15 minutes to practise a cover song. We did an acoustic song and I decided not to play bass in the song but rather a pair of shakers. We performed the song right by the shop and library. I thought our performance was very good, our band has good musicians so it was overall a very good performance. It was a different experience so I learnt a lot because it was outside and I wasn't playing bass but rather helping to keep time with the shakers. This challeneged me as a musician which was good because it will help me to develop. Playing the shakers helped to build a sense of rhythm which will work towards my bass playing becuase the bass guitar is a rhythm instrument. I thought that the music sounded good, but to help improve our performance even more we should work on our performance technique and maybe consider a harder song to help improve our musicianship so that we gain more experience and in the process and learn more.
